Labeled PCB layout of the 4-zone seat heating controller: 24V input, Bluetooth module, microcontroller, power MOSFETs, and temperature sensor interfaces

Project Overview

The client needed premium seat heating for aviation seating: four independently heated zones, each with its own temperature feedback, controlled wirelessly from a tablet or phone. Comfort products in aviation can't be flaky — heat has to reach setpoint predictably, hold it, and never run away.

We engineered the complete system: power electronics that switch heating mats from a 24 V supply through dedicated MOSFET stages, per-zone thermocouple temperature sensing, Bluetooth connectivity, and an Android app where each zone is adjusted on a visual seat diagram with live temperature readout.

System Highlights

  • Four independent heating zones — back, lumbar, seat, and leg areas individually driven and sensed
  • Closed-loop temperature control — thermocouple feedback per zone; heat holds setpoint instead of guessing
  • 24 V MOSFET power stage — sized for real heating mat currents, isolated from control logic
  • Bluetooth control — no wiring between the seat and the operator's tablet
  • Android app — per-zone control on a seat diagram, live temperature display, single-tap power

Live demo: the Android app adjusting seat temperature in real time, with the temperature readout responding as zones heat.

How It Was Delivered

This engagement ran like every Alchemy Solutions project: a written technical proposal and quotation up front, milestone schedule with dates, cost sheet for hardware and software, block diagrams and schematics for sign-off before build — then delivery of the PCB design, firmware, and application with full documentation.
